The 5900C Radar Level Gauge operates on the principle of microwave reflection. It emits high - frequency microwave signals, typically in the millimeter - wave range, towards the surface of the liquid within a container. These microwave signals travel through the air or vapor space above the liquid at the speed of light. Upon reaching the liquid surface, the signals are reflected back to the gauge. The time it takes for the microwave signals to travel to the liquid surface and return is precisely measured.The built - in advanced signal processing algorithms play a crucial role in this process.
